About Me

Biography

I am Asmaa Elnawawy, a visual artist, associate professor at the Fine Art Mixed Media Department, and a vice Dean of Community Service and Enterprise at the Faculty of Art and Design at the British University in Egypt. I have been working in the fine art faculty, at Helwan University from 2003 till 2019.
I want to introduce myself as an academic and as a visual artist as well, I achieved the State Incentive Art Award from the Egyptian Ministry of Culture in 2018, and I achieved a State Award of Creativity which led to a distinguished scholarship in Italy at The Egyptian Art Academy in Rome 2014, my last solo exhibition was at Picasso Art Gallery (Time Capsules) 2021, I had the honor to be the commissioner of Luxor international symposium 2022, my latest group exhibition (King Tut collective event) was exhibited at the Ashmolean Museum in collaboration with Oxford research center for humanity, and my latest group exhibition was at London in the Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau as a part of the Egyptian Cultural Season at 2023.
My artworks are a part of private and public collections, locally, regionally, and globally, the most notable places you will find my artwork are the Museum of Modern Art in Egypt and Jordan, the Library of Alexandria, and the Egyptian Embassy at Al Kuwait.
